I retired in January 1992 as a CSM after 24 years.  It's paying my mortgage.  After I retired I finished a BA in Secondary Education from the University of Hawaii and a MA in History from the University of West Georgia and currently teach AP US History at a local high school.  From the infantry to high school, hardly any transition at all.  I enjoy every day of it especially during June and July.  A coincidence, I teach at a high school that the team visited in 1974 while doing a recruiting visit, they gave me the team picture with my signature still on it.  Lesson: don't burn your bridges and be nice to people along the way because you never know where you will end up.
