Sergeant Bennion, a member of the Golden Knights' competition team,
joined the Army in 1965 after three years in the National Guard.
He was assigned to the famed 82nd Airborne Division, joining the
Golden Knights in 1967. He took part the following year in the team's
assault on world parachuting accuracy records, of
which
the Knights now hold 87 out of the 128 total. Sergeant Bennion's
name appears on 61 of those marks. He has also won numerous other
awards in parachuting competition. Sergeant Bennion holds the Distinguished
Flying Cross for his part in the Knights' world record attempts.
