After 275 demonstrations, Gold Team Leader, Sergeant First Class Steve Beinert is entering his third year with the U.S. Army Parachute Team, the "Golden Knights". While this will be his first year as a Team Leader, Steve's parachuting background and leadership ability more than qualify him for the task.

Prior to joing the Knights, Steve spent time on the 7th Army Parachute Team, based in Bad Tolz, Germany, and with the Airborne Training Department, at Fort Benning, Georgia.

In the field of sport parachuting, Steve has been awarded his Diamond Wings for having made over 2000 free-fall parachute jumps, as well as the 23 Hour Free-Fall Badge, representing 12 full hours in free-fall.

Sergeant Beinert's military awards include: the Combat Infantrymans Badge, and Master Parachutist Wings.

Steve is a 1957 graduate of Fort Meade High School, Ft. Meade Florida. Steve's wife, Jacquelyn is the daughter of Kenneth and Marian McGraw of Whiteville, North Carolina.
