| Kate Griesser started her skydiving experience in August 1993 at Raeford Skydiving Services, with retired Golden Knight John Tippy. Learning from the best and having the opportunity to jump with the Golden Knights on their days off from training, Kate quickly fell in love with the sport.
In 1994, Kate and partner Tony Thacker started SKY KAT Gear Shop on the Raeford drop zone. In 2001, Kate & Tony expanded their involvement in the skydiving industry and purchased Raeford Parachute Center. Through SKY KAT Gear Shop, Raeford Parachute Center & as a fellow skydiver, Kate has enjoyed many years of working with and playing in the air next to many of the Golden Knights. In 2002, Kate was made an honorary Golden Knight for her years of service and support of the Golden Knights along with her husband Tony Thacker during the Golden Knight party at Aviator?s Bar & Grill, located at Raeford DZ. SKY KAT Gear Shop was sold in 2003 to allow Kate more time to be devoted to the Raeford Parachute Center school. Presently, Kate is the Raeford DZ S&TA, S/L Instructor, and AFF Instructor/Evaluator at Raeford Parachute Center. But most of all, Kate enjoys working with and skydiving with the Golden Knights. |
